a) What is a portable application.
This is when a program is able to use itself when saved on a sort of memory device, and use it one a computer that doesn't have the program. For example, when you install Audacity onto your computer. You are then able to save the application onto a USB, save files, open the application normally and everything. Although, when you unplug your USB you are still able to use the application even on someone else's computer that doesn't have the program. This is called a portable application because you don't actually have to install it every time you want to use it on a different computer.
b) The advantages of portable applications.
The advantages if that you don't have to limit yourself to just using it on your computer. If you want to use someone else's, it can easily work and you are easily able to access the information and software you need. This creates a easy way to move work from one place to another and you can easily do your work when not on your own computer. The program is still able to operate properly and easily. All the things are still the same as if it was install on your computer.
