Sir, i did not know we had to do a journal until i was nearly finished the process of creating, so i have just answered them now.a) Desribe what software you used and why you chose it.
I used inkscape as much software. The reason i have chosen this software is because i find it easy to operate and i understand editing prograns very well due to me always using photoshop. As well as that, because sir did a demenstration which made it easier to understand the process.
b) Desrcibe the creat process you followed.
The process i followed was costantly making tigger jump up and down, although, i only did one cyle then copy and pasted more frames to make it look like his costantly jumping up and down. To make it look more real and effective i also drew the trampoline on inkscape which enabled me to make it look like it was being jumped on. I moved the circle costantly. As he was jumping more up, i made the trampoline slowly go back to the orginal state, and as he was coming back to the trampoline after jumping, i would then make the trampoline look like it was streched again.
To the make the stars rotate all the time, all i did was constantly rotate them each time i exported an image to save.
Then, i slowly make the word "clare!" come, each by letter. To do this, as he was jumping up, i would also move the letters slowly in one at a time. As well, as trying to remember to keep the stars continually rotating. Then, as they all appeared, i replaced them with a different orange so they can have more emphasis on the house colour name, then i made the image go bigger for visual effect on your eyes. Then, out of no order they would disappear the same way they appeared (going up). By doing this, i used the same method of just constantly move the letters, the tigger, the stars and the trampoline all at the same time, then exporting the image.
I didn't really know how to do this at the start of it, because i couldn't find an svg file and the cartoon i chosen to represent my house (tigger) was hard to create/draw on inkscape. So when i found the image that i used, i had the idea of it just bouncing on a trampoline. Although, i couldn't find a svg file of a trampoline either, although the trampoline was easy to make, i used the techniques i had used in earlier extension work, that i had gained from this experimentations. What i did was created a circle, then i created another black circle on top. Although, to make it stretch out i had to make another blue circle, and a black one as well. Then i put the black one over the top, but leave the edge of the circle, then i went to path > difference. With that, i got a blue arch that then covered it when i had to stretch the trampoline when he jumped. I had learnt this technique from previous inkscape vectors i had created for extension and boredom. This is evidence/visual representation of what i was going on about:
To make the tigger look like it's constantly bouncing up and down, i only copied and pasted the 1 cycle i had made for it to make it look like he is constantly bouncing.
svg file. An svg file is where the file will be opened to inkscape and that enables you still to change the file.
d) what image format did you save your frames as?
png file. Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a bitmapped image format that employs lossless data compression. (SOURCE FOR DEFINITION)
e) What frame rate were you aiming for?
I was aiming for at least 100 frames. Because i didn't want it too short, although i didn't want it too long.
f) What is the final size of your animation?
3.59 MB (3,773,636 bytes)
g) What difficultes did you encounter and how did you overcome them?
Some difficulties i encounter were constantly exporting the image while it was on "selection" when it should be on "page" when it saves on "selection" the image only saves as the object that was selected. This is a difficult position because then you have to go back and re-create the work you had just lost, and it wouldn't be as accurate because you don't know the exact point of where you need to go back to, so you can re-create the work you had just lost. And many times, saved it in selection instead of page. Therefore, i constantly had to keep restarting.
Another difficulty i encountered was having no idea on what type of animation i would make. I started late on this assessment, and i finished today, although when i first decided to start the assessment, i had no idea what to do, i had no motivation and i had nothing in mind. This was a problem because i kept delaying actually going out and starting my assessment. When i finally did, i had thought of doing tigger as the mascot, although, i couldn't find any svg files, which made it hard. But, i did find a image of tigger with him balancing on his tail. Thats when i had the idea of having him bounce on a trampoline instead of just finding a svg file. Although, i needed a svg file for a trampoline because if i just have a image of a trampoline, it would look unrealistic because the trampoline wouldn't stretch when he reached the trampoline, therefore showing it doesn't really weight anything. To over come this difficultly, i made my own trampoline, and therefore i was able to move it and change it so that it actually looked like the tigger really was moving and jumping on the trampoline. This effect was created by constantly moving the black circle up and down everytime he reached back down to trampoline, although, i would gradually make it go down or up to give it more effect.
